Amit Shah will help the Nagaland group increase its bid for bifurcation.

On December 3, leaders of a group representing six districts that want to secede from Nagaland will meet in New Delhi to discuss their demand for statehood.

Mr. Shah has reportedly invited a team to talk about Statehood for six of Nagaland’s 16 districts, according to a spokesperson for the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO). To be freed from “decades of neglect,” the six dominant tribes in these districts have been calling for the establishment of “Frontier Nagaland.”

The ENPO had previously made the decision not to take part in the state’s premier Hornbill Festival, which begins on December 1. The annual festival at Kisama, close to the state capital Kohima, highlights the customs and cultures of all the Naga ethnic groups.
